A valuable member of the community
As a third-generation Shire resident, Ruth is a well-loved and respected figure in her trademark red shoes, with exhaustive local knowledge and community spirit. She especially loves open-house days on Saturdays – she finds it a day where work meets social.
Ruth grew up in Bangor and went to the Shire Christian School, where her three children now attend. As a child, she loved hanging out at the beach, shopping in Miranda with her family and playing netball. Ruth attends a local church in Gymea, and is a supporting mother at the children’s school.
Enjoying life in the Shire with family
Ruth’s life is full of family and friends – she loves chilling out with her husband and children at home, hanging with other families or girlfriends, and enjoying everything that Bangor and the surrounding areas have to offer. She always starts her day with a walk with her dad around Bangor.
Saturday nights are usually spent sitting around their fireplace in winter with friends or family, or by the pool in summer. She also loves eating out in some of her favorite Shire restaurants, like Alphabet Street, Next Door, Queen Margherita and Din Tai Fung.
Sundays are chillout day, starting with church. Afterwards, they might get breakfast rolls at the North Cronulla Surf Life Saving Cafe and then sit on the rocks enjoying the ocean. To reset, Ruth would take a walk on the esplanade and spend the day relaxing at the beautiful beach at Boat Harbour.
